Last year was a great year for new music. If you don't believe us, check out our Top 20 Albums Of 2015 post and see what you might have missed. Now that the calendar has turned into a new year, we have high hopes for 2016, and the following anticipated releases are the main reason why. Get excited people!

Artist: Brian Fallon

Album: Painkillers

Release Date: March 11th

"A Wonderful Life", the first single from the upcoming album 'Painkillers' picks up right where Brian's full time gig, The Gaslight Anthem, leaves off...and we couldn't be happier. Jangly guitars, a Bruce Springsteen crush, and poignant lyrics are what we've come to expect from this bluesy punk rock troubadour and the first single has it in spades, leading us to believe that the rest of the album will also deliver. Heck, with The Gaslight Anthem and The Horrible Crowes, Fallon has yet to disappoint and we don't think he's about to start now.

Artist: Wild Belle

Album: Sound System

Release Date: April 15th

If the first two singles, "Giving Up On You" & "Throw Down Your Guns" are indications of what's to come from the sophomore release of the brother & sister duo out of Chicago, their album may follow in the footsteps of their excellent debut 'Isles', which was one of our Top 20 albums of 2013.

Artist: Lights

Album: Midnight Machines

Release Date: April 8th

While on tour supporting her latest album 'Little Machines', Lights announced she will be releasing an acoustic version of the album in early 2016. We don't have all the details...if the album will be an acoustic song for song version of 'Little Machines' (similar to how her 'Siberia Acoustic' album mirrored 'Siberia') or if there will be any new songs...but either way, we're super excited.

Artist: The Virginmarys

Album: Divides

Release Date: May 6th

UPDATE! The new album, the follow-up to the bands excellent 2013 release 'King Of Conflict', will be titled 'Divides'. After hearing lead vocalist Ally Dickaty spitting anger on first single "Into Dust", we're expecting big things in 2016 from this three-piece punk rock band out of England.

Artist: Escondido

Album: Walking With A Stranger

Release Date: February 5th

We have Erin McCarley (who will also be releasing an album in 2016) to thank for our knowledge of Nashville, TN based band Escondido. Introduced to their American roots rock meets Ennio Morricone spaghetti western sound on their debut album 'The Ghost Of Escondido', the duo of Jessica Maros & Tyler James are set to release their sophomore effort that already has us buzzing after hearing the first two singles...stomp rocker "Heart Is Black" and the slow burning heart breaker "Try".

Artist: Lacey Sturm

Album: Life Screams

Release Date: February 12th

It wasn't long ago, late October 2012 to be exact, that Lacey Sturm announced her departure from hard rock band Flyleaf and the music industry in general due to, among other things, the desire to spend more quality time with family. Fast forward to October 2014, a mere two years later, and news of a solo venture was already beginning to bubble up to the surface. With the release of her first solo single, "Impossible", everything is coming full circle and the 4' 11" pixy with the fierce voice is back with a vengeance.

Artist: Panic! At The Disco

Album: Death Of A Bachelor

Release Date: January 15th

At this point Panic! At The Disco is really just Brendon Urie, as original members Ryan Ross, Spencer Smith, and Brent Wilson have all quit or been fired at some point over the last ten years or so...Smith being the last to depart after the superb 'Too Weird To Live, Too Rare To Die', the band's fourth studio album released in 2013. Trust us, after one listen to singles "Victorious", the Sinatra-esque "Death Of A Bachelor", "Emperor's New Clothes", and "Hallelujah"...you won't miss the other members at all. No disrespect intended, but this is definitely Urie's show and once again he doesn't disappoint.

Artist: Lissie

Album: My Wild West

Release Date: February 12th

Huge fans ever since hearing her debut album 'Catching A Tiger' (which made our Top 10 albums list back in 2010) and equally impressed with her last album, 2013's 'Back To Forever', we're super excited for new music. Her third studio album, another batch of Stevie Nicks/Fleetwood Mac Americana folk rock is said to be inspired by her experiences in the music industry; from Paste Magazine darling upon the release of her excellent aforementioned debut album to her move to California, all the while keeping her midwestern values. We've heard singles "Don't You Give Up On Me" and "Hero" and feel quite certain this album already has a great head start to appearing on our Top 20 list for 2016!

Artist: Rachel Platten

Album: Wildfire

Release Date: January 1st...go get it!

We fell instantly in love with Rachel Platten upon hearing her debut album 'Be Here' way back when, and those feelings were only strengthened after seeing her open for Matt Nathanson in concert. You can't help but root for the gorgeous and super talented Platten who sings with a smile on her face and truly seems humble and thankful for her current success after toiling in the music industry for some time and almost calling it quits. 2015 was a HUGE year, with the gigantic success of single "Fight Song" and continued success of follow-up single "Stand By You". Both songs are anthems of positivity that have become rallying cries for millions of fans. We can't invision anything but continued success in 2016 and can think of no one more worthy than her.

Artist: Coasts

Album: Coasts (Deluxe)

Release Date: January 22nd

Already getting major buzz in their homeland following the release of singles "A Rush Of Blood" and "Oceans", UK based Coasts will release their debut abum in the states in January and hope to take over the world like fellow brit-pop bands they share similarities with such as Coldplay, Oasis and Keane.

Other artists we expect to see albums from this year include:

The Cult (Hidden City is due February 12th), Birdy (Beautiful Lies is due March 25th), She Is We (War is due March 18th), Travis (Everything At Once is due April 29th), U2, Maren Morris, Our Lady Peace, Erin McCarley, Royal Blood, Bruno Mars, Cassadee Pope, Tori Kelly, JAX, BANKS, Rachael Yamagata, ZZ Ward, Skylar Grey, Beril Guceri...

*Please keep in mind that relese dates are always subject to change. We will update any information as we receive it.
