2014 ended up being an excellent year for music. If you don't believe us, check out our Top 20 Albums Of 2014 post where we look back at 20 albums that we absolutely loved and you should too! That's not to say there weren't a few releases we were hoping would see the light of day in 2014 that never happened...but hey, that just means 2015 looks like it could be a great year too! Check out some of the releases coming in 2015 that we're super excited for! In no particular order...
The Airborne Toxic Event
Of all the albums we were eagerly anticipating for release in 2014 that never happened, TATE's 4th studio album was definitely the one we wanted the MOST. Sadly 2014 came and left without an official release. We did get a teaser in the form of the first single, "Wrong". From that song, it seems one of our favorite bands may be changing their sound a bit and adding more synth going forward...but regardless, we think they'll most likely find their way into our Top 20 of 2015! Early news from the band teases the title of the album to be 'Dope Machines', for which there is also a song of the same name that they've been performing live recently. Check out the video for the first single, "Wrong"...
Gin Wigmore
We really thought we'd see a new album from our favorite Kiwi singer (sorry Lorde fans) in 2014, but she's been busy putting finishing touches on what could be her biggest album yet after the success of singles "Black Sheep", "Man Like That", and "Kill Of The Night" off of her excellent 2013 release 'Gravel & Wine'. In fact, 'Gravel & Wine' was our #1 album of 2013! No pressure Gin!

Bebe Rexha
We've been a fan of Bebe ever since we heard Black Cards, her collaboration with Pete Wentz of Fall Out Boy. Come to find out, Bebe's been slowly incorporating herself into our favorite music, as the writer of "The Monster", the #1 hit by Eminem featuring Rihanna and as the voice of Cash Cash's smash hit "Take Me Home". We were disappointed when we heard Black Cards would be no more before they even got a chance to shine, but knew there was no way we had heard the last of Ms. Rexha. We were right. This past August she released what we thought should have been the song of the summer "I Can't Stop Drinking About You". The video has already garnered well over 2 million views and to keep momentum going Bebe recently released her new single "I'm Gonna Show You Crazy". Her debut album will hopefully drop early 2015 and we predict big things!
Mat Kearney
Look for Mat Kearney's new album, 'Just Kids', to drop on February 24th, 2015. In fact, you can already pre-order the album on iTunes and via his website. The album will include the first single "Heartbeat' & title track "Just Kids" among others. Check out the video for "Heartbeat" which was shot in a single take (though it took a few tries) by a camera fitted to a drone flying above the Los Angeles River bed.
Rachel Platten
Rachel Platten first peaked our attention back in 2011 with her infectious song "1,000 Ships" and further captured our ears and hearts as the opening act for Matt Nathanson. You may have heard her songs if you watch the TV show Pretty Little Liars, as a few of her tracks have been featured. So far we've heard two songs off the as yet untitled second album..."Fight Song" and "Begin Again". If these songs accurately represent what's to come on Rachel Platten's follow-up to her debut album 'Be Here', we're all in. It's been a long wait, but we're thinking well worth it. Check out the lyric video for "Fight Song".
Veruca Salt
We remember the day Nina and Louise parted ways...a few tears may have been shed. Ok, who are we kidding...many tears! After two solo outings by Nina and a few Veruca Salt albums with Louise only, it looked as if a reunion wasn't in the cards. But alas, that wasn't the case! Earlier this year the original members of Veruca Salt (including drummer Jim Shapiro who left not long after the success of 'American Thighs') got back together and released two songs ("It's Holy" & "The Museum Of Broken Relationships") as a special vinyl release for Record Store Day. Lucky for us, they had a blast doing it and announced a mini tour and full length album to follow. What's even better than the announcement...is the fact that when you listen to the new songs you feel as if the band has only gotten better!
Misterwives
It's not often that an EP will make our Top 20 Albums list...but that's exactly what happened to Misterwives debut EP 'Reflections'. The 6 song collection was so damn good, it could not go without our recognition. Of course, that only means we have very high hopes for the debut full length album from vocalist Mandy Lee and the rest of the band who meld folk, pop, horns, and even some 70's disco into their amazing songs. Check out the video for "Reflections" and be on the lookout for new music in 2015...you can thank us later.
Jana Kramer
We have a huge crush on Jana Kramer. Ok, there...we said it. But that's just one reason why we're eagerly anticipating the TV star turned country singer's sophmore album. The last time we heard Kramer previewing some of her new songs was during a StageIt show (over a year and a half ago...wow time flies) when she was very much still in love with fellow country singer Brantley Gilbert. Alas, that relationship didn't last...and we're left wondering if some of the amazing songs we heard (some obviously influenced by their relationship at the time) will make it on to the new album or not. One song we know that definitely will is the single "Love", which speaks to someone still believing in the emotion even through hard times. Kinda like us still believing we have a chance with Jana. We can dream! Check out the video for "Love" which was filmed in Honduras to support www.hearts2honduras.org.
Fall Out Boy
'American Beauty/American Psycho', the bands new album is set for release January 20th, 2015. The album will feature the singles "Centuries", "Immortals" (from the movie Big Hero 6), "The Kids Aren't Alright", and the self-titled track "American Beauty/American Psycho". Sadly, it does not appear we'll be treated to a video that tells a story for each song as we were with The Youngblood Chronicles from their previous album 'Save Rock n Roll'. Or will we? Either way, the video for "Centuries" is pretty epic!
Matt Nathanson
Matt Nathanson is pretty active on social media, so we're pretty sure we'll know about a new album once things get a little closer to fruition. In the mean time, he did release "Headphones" (featuring LOLO) and created a video to help bring awareness to hearing loss worldwide...the power of hearing being something Matt says he definitely couldn't live without. We're hopeful that "Headphones" is just the first piece of ear candy we get from Matt Nathanson in 2015!
Dead Sara
After the success of their first single "Weatherman" off of their equally successful self-titled album and tours with Bush, The Used, Muse, Puddle of Mudd, Chevelle, and The Offspring among others in addition to a stint on the Vans Warped Tour...you'd think everything was on the up & up for this Los Angeles based rock band...but alas, this is the music business. The band recently announced that they parted ways with Epic Records and will release their new album 'Pleasure To Meet You' on their own Pocket Kid Records with the help of a PledgeMusic campaign. The album should be released sometime in March of 2015. We've heard the first song, "Suicidal", and we're thinking repeat success is on the horizon.

Ellie Goulding
Halcyon and its companion album Halcyon Days came out in 2012/2013 and spawned hit after hit including "Burn", "Anything Could Happen", "Figure 8", and "Goodness Gracious" to name a few. Of course, she's been far from slacking since, having guested on songs for Calvin Harris, Active Child, Drake, and Iggy Azalea among others, placing songs on soundtracks for The Hunger Games and Divergent, and touring the world. At the end of 2014, the singer confirmed she was fully focused on her third album, which gives us hope that we'll hear new music from her no later than summer 2015.

Adele
How does Adele follow-up '21', the huge smash album she released in 2011? The album was so well received critically & commercially...it easily surpassed the success of her début album '19' and in the process earned her numerous awards including six Grammy Awards, two Brit Awards, and three American Music Awards. We can't wait to hear what she does next!
New Politics
Hailing from Copenhagen, Denmark...this dance/rock/rap party band is set to release their thrid album, 'Vikings', in February 2015. You can already hear the extremely catchy new single "Everywhere I Go (Kings And Queens)".
Kat Dahlia
We've been listening to her awesome single "Crazy" for about a year now...bring on the debut album, 'My Garden', due January 13th!
Lifehouse
After a short hiatus and a split from their longtime record label, Geffen, Christian rock-pop band Lifehouse is back and set to independently release their new album titled '7' this April, 2015. The album will feature the single "Flight", which the band released a lyric video for in November. Check it out.
Breaking Benjamin
On hiatus since shortly after the release of 'Dear Agony' in 2009 due to lead singer Ben Burnley's illness...the band went through a shake-up leaving only Burnley left as an original member. But as of August 2014, the band is touring again and a new album is in the works. Will it hold up to past releases? We can't wait to find out!
Our Lady Peace
You can currently sign-up on their website for 'Transparent Humans', a digital only collection of rare B-sides and unreleased songs they've compiled for fans that they're giving away for free! Can a full length album be far away? We're hoping 2015 brings us a new OLP album!
Heather Nova
'300 Days At Sea', Heather Nova's last album, came out in 2011...so needless to say, she's long overdue. That album was released with the help of a PledgeMusic campaign, where fans can purchase items in an effort to help the artist release their album, tour, make a video, or whatever the case may be. Lucky for us, her previous campaign went so well Heather Nova has utilized PledgeMusic again. In fact, the campaign for her new album has been funded...meaning we should have a new album (by our count, her 10th studio album) in March of 2015!
Rachael Yamagata
It's also been since 2011 that we've had new music from Rachael Yamagata. She too used PledgeMusic to successfully help her release her album 'Chesapeake'. She too has gone back to PledgeMusic in order to help assist her with her new album and the results have been as favorable as the first time. Her PledgeMusic campaign has been funded which will result in a new album being released in February of 2015!
Juliet Simms
The Voice has yet to make household names out of any of the winners or runner-ups during their 7 seasons on air. However, some of the winners have gone on to moderate success with the strong possibly of being on the path that will lead to a long and fruitful career...most notably the up & coming country singers Cassadee Pope (winner of Season 3) and Danielle Bradbery (winner of Season 4). Juliet Simms, runner-up on Season 2 (for our money she should have won her season) is hoping to break the mold and be the first runner-up with equal (if not more) success . Simms experienced the highs & lows of the music industry while singing in her band Automatic Loveletter who were mishandled by both Epic & RCA Records even as they were playing sold out shows including stints on the Vans Warped Tour. To top it off, after The Voice she was signed by Cee Lo Green (her coach on The Voice) who produced her first single after the show..."Wild Child", which was not entirely the path Simms had wanted to go down. Possibly best known for dating Andy Biersack, lead singer of Black Veil Brides, she's determined to make a name for herself by going it alone. So far so good...she's successfully funded a PledgeMusic campaign and will release her "All Or Nothing" EP this Spring.

Night Terrors Of 1927
New album 'Everything's Coming Up Roses' that includes the single "When You Were Mine" (featuring Tegan & Sara) is set for a January 20th, 2015 release.
The Chevin
We've been huge fans of this band since they broke out onto the scene in 2007 as Your Vegas. After a couple of name changes, they settled on The Chevin and released the amazing album 'Borderland' and the rocking single "Champion" in 2012. After opening shows for The Airborne Toxic Event, playing the Firefly Festival in 2013, and performing some acoustic shows in NYC...we're hopeful 2015 will bring a new album!
The Virginmarys
Their excellent debut album 'King Of Conflict' entered our Top Albums Of 2013 list at #2. To say we have high hopes for this British punk rock band would be an understatement...and since 'King Of Conflict' came out in February of 2013, we've been waiting long enough! We hope to hear some new music in 2015.
Other artists we love who will most likely be releasing new music in 2015 include: Chvrches, Coldplay, Against The Current, Wild Belle, Gabrielle Aplin, Escondido, Muse, Papa Roach, Crystalyne, The Neighborhood, Bruno Mars, The Stereophonics, Florence + The Machine, Halsey, Zella Day...
Looks like 2015 might be another great year for music!!
